A few days ago I was so excited to realize that it was finally the day! I came home to the best easter egg hunt ever:


Well, sort of. I can’t say their hiding is easter bunny level yet (and heres hoping they catch on to the idea of nesting boxes soon).


I knew it was Josephina (the Rhode Island Red) because they always lay early. Amercauanas usually lay late but we were in for a surprise:


When it rains it pours! Of course a taste test was in order


Even Eva agreed our eggs were far better (albeit tiny) compared to store bought. She is hardly even biased.

John was a liiiitttle bit excited. He may have talked about the chickens at work. A little bit.
